Standards for the Flammability of Children’s Sleepwear*
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) sets national safety standards for children’s sleepwear flammability (16 CFR Part 1615 and 1616) to protect children from burns. Garments sold as children’s sleepwear for sizes larger than nine months must be:
- Flame-Resistant (FR) (FR Cotton or Polyester)
- Tight-Fitting (Non FR) (non-FR Cotton or cotton blends)
